Expected Learning Outcomes

Training objectives according to Dublin descriptors

The Business Organization Course is structured to allow the student to achieve the following learning outcomes, in line with European criteria:

D1. Knowledge and understanding

The student will acquire knowledge and understanding skills in organization, business organization, and specifically in social and healthcare organizations and the fundamental regulations in force on the subject. It will be able to understand the different organizational models that have developed over the years at the national and regional levels in relation to the evolution of the healthcare system.

 

D2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding

The student will acquire

- knowledge and understanding of  organizational systems

- understanding the importance and meaning of business organization

- knowledge of organizational models in the socio-health sector

- knowledge of the regulations regarding healthcare organization in Italy 

 

D3. Making judgments

Through the presentation and explanation of legislative decrees and laws regarding healthcare organization in Italy, the student will develop the ability to:

- know how to research the regulations that can help him in the development of his work

- understand the contextual regulations within the organization in which you will find yourself practicing your profession.

 

D4. Communication skills

The student will develop soft skills to:

- communicate what you have learned with appropriate technical language

- translate the knowledge acquired in this course by adapting it to your work environment

- participate in meetings with a management and evaluation component of healthcare work

 

D5. Learning skills

The course aims to provide an autonomous study methodology that allows the student to:

- understand that the development of an activity cannot ignore the identification of an appropriate organization

- identify the organizational conditions and methods best suited to your work environment while respecting the sector regulations

- Basic learning skills will allow him to work technically in his own technical field or, if he wishes, continue his master's studies for possible positions or competitions in the management field.

Course Structure

The course is divided into weekly lectures.

Classes are attended with discussion of specific cases, reading and explanation of texts concerning the regulations.

Required Prerequisites

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

No prerequisites are required as the course provides basic knowledge.

 

The course's lessons will aim to provide students with the basic tools for understanding organizational phenomena and the organization of healthcare companies in general.

Classes will be held on a weekly basis in the second semester of the academic year, as per the calendar.


Attendance at teaching activities is compulsory and is indispensable for taking the examination.

BUSINESS ORGANIZATION

Business organization: fundamental concepts.

Mission and vision. Primary and secondary objectives.

Human resources and their exploitation.

Health organization in Italy.

Origins of the National Health System. Law 833/78. 

USL. Legislative Decree 502/92: Corporatization in Healthcare.

Strategic direction: role Director General, Administrative and Health

Autonomy of the ASLs.

Territorial companies and hospital companies

legislative decree 229/99

The Health Departments and Districts

Institutional and optional accreditation.

The Hospital Discharge Form.

The remuneration system to DRG.

Organization of hospitalizations and services (ordinary regime, day hospital, day surgery, day service, outpatient)

Organization of the emergency in the territory.

Organization of home care

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

Examination includes the written test and oral interview.


The written test includes open-ended questions. After passing the written test, which evaluates the relevance of the answers to the questions posed and the quality of the content, the oral test is administered, with a verification of the oral test and a question to confirm the grade.


The learning assessment is developed in a unified and integrated manner by both teachers of the individual modules
