1. Knowledge and understanding: Understand the fundamentals of audiology, the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, the main types of hearing loss, and the basics of audiological diagnostics in relation to communication disorders.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding: Apply basic audiological knowledge to the guided interpretation of audiological tests and to understanding the impact of hearing loss on language and speech therapy.
3. Making independent judgments: Recognize the main hearing loss conditions that interfere with communication and identify the need for referral for specialist evaluation
4. Communication skills: Use basic audiological terminology to communicate with healthcare professionals and with patients and families.
5. Learning skills: Develop independent learning skills to continuously update basic audiological knowledge.
Course Structure
Frontal lessons.
The themes of the program will be discussed with the aid of slides and the proposed topics will be the subject of collective discussion and in-depth analysis on the basis of any questions that arise during the lessons themselves.

Detailed Course Content
In-depth study of the anatomy, physiology and semiotics of the auditory and vestibular system.
Hearing loss: epidemiology, classification, etiology, risk factors and consequences of permanent hearing loss in childhood and adults; Hearing screening procedures.
Theoretical bases of the recording method of subjective and objective audiometric techniques and their interpretation.
Diagnostic and clinical bases regarding the main pathologies of the auditory system and vestibular system; differential diagnosis and notes on medical, surgical and prosthetic therapy.
