PSICOLOGIA DELLO SVILUPPO E DELL'EDUCAZIONEModule PSICOLOGIA DELLO SVILUPPO E PSICOLOGIA DELL'EDUCAZIONE
Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: VALENTINA LUCIA LA ROSAExpected Learning Outcomes
1. Knowledge and understanding
By the end of the course, students will have acquired a systematic knowledge of the main theories and reference models in developmental and educational psychology, with particular attention to the developmental milestones of physical, motor, cognitive, linguistic, emotional, affective, and moral development during childhood. Students will understand the theoretical foundations of attachment theory and its main applications in educational and clinical contexts, including neurodevelopmental and language disorders.
2. Applying knowledge and understanding
Students will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to the analysis of typical and atypical developmental trajectories, interpreting behaviours, developmental processes, and emerging difficulties in light of the theoretical models covered in the course. They will be able to use concepts from developmental psychology and attachment theory to analyse and discuss case examples related to educational, family, and psycho-educational intervention contexts.
3. Making judgements
Students will develop the ability to formulate independent and well-reasoned evaluations of developmental processes by integrating theoretical knowledge, empirical evidence, and critical reflection. They will be able to compare different theoretical models, identifying their strengths and limitations, and to express justified judgements regarding the applications of attachment theory across developmental and educational domains.
4. Communication skills
By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate the core concepts of the discipline clearly and accurately, using appropriate scientific terminology and a coherent argumentative structure. They will be able to present complex theoretical concepts, respond to questions of varying levels of difficulty, and actively participate in discussions related to the topics addressed in the course.
5. Learning skills
Students will have developed autonomous learning skills that will enable them to independently deepen their understanding of developmental and educational psychology, update their knowledge through academic texts and study materials, and integrate what they have learned into further academic training or related professional contexts.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
The examination will be conducted orally. The final assessment may be supplemented by the results of classroom exercises, either individually or in groups, scheduled by the teacher.
To ensure equal opportunities and in compliance with current laws, students enrolled in CINAP who require it can contact the teacher by email or directly during the lessons (in any case, before reaching half of the scheduled lesson hours), to agree on any compensatory and/or dispensatory measures, based on educational objectives and specific needs.
The evaluation criteria adopted for the assessment of learning are as follows:
- Adequacy of expression regarding content and method
- Breadth of thematic awareness and lexical correctness
- Ability for critical deepening
- Ability for interdisciplinary connection
- Ability to reprocess knowledge
- Ability to transfer knowledge to operational contexts
