Knowledge of oral diseases and bad habits with particular regard to those of interest for speech therapists. Students must acquired the knowledge needed to promptly identify the clinical signs of a malocclusion in the developmental age associated with disturbances in phonation, language and in general in the functionality of the language.

Dental nomenclatures. Dysodontiasis and periods of eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth. Deciduous teeth Exfoliation. Anomalies of dental eruption time and order. Pathologies of dental eruption: neodental syndrome and dysodontiasis of the third molars. Dental anomalies of volume, shape, number, location, position and development. Dental and periodontal tissue trauma. Dental caries and its complications. Pulp disease. Periodontal desease. Periodontitis. Osteitis, osteoperiostitis and osteomyelitis of the jaws. Jaw abscesses and phlegmons. Odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. Cystic neoformations of the jaws. Swallowing disorders and dento-maxillo-facial alterations. Cleft lip and palate
