Human pathology sciencesModule immunopathology
Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: SAVERIO CANDIDOExpected Learning Outcomes
D1 – Knowledge and understanding
The student knows the main immune and inflammatory processes, as well as the mechanisms involved into the alteration of immune response. He understands disease etiology of autoimmune diseases and causes related to hypersensitivity or deficit of host immune response to pathogens.
D2 – Applied knowledge and understanding
The student is able to apply acquired knowledge to identify the pathogenetic processes leading to functional alterations of immune system and related diseases.
D3 – Critical thinking
The student is able to integrate acquired knowledge to critically analyze immunopathological processes. The student can evaluate immune disease mechanisms, demonstrating critical thinking in the analysis of biological processes related to dysregulation of immune response.
D4 – Communication skills
The student is able to use an appropriate scientific language related to immunopathology and accurately describe etiology, pathogenesis, and morpho-functional alterations of tissues and organs. Effective communication with faculty members and healthcare professionals is demonstrated.
D5 – Learning skills
The student develops an independent and critical approach to learning, enabling in-depth study of immunopathological mechanisms through textbooks and scientific literature. The student is able to further develop knowledge within biomedical sciences.
Course Structure
The teaching will be carried out through the provision of classroom teaching lessons.
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.
