Corso integrato di Neuroscienze
Module Neurochirurgia

Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: FRANCESCO CERTO

Expected Learning Outcomes

The course aims to develop knowledge and skills related to epidemiological data, classification criteria, semiological and clinical characteristics, diagnostic procedures, and treatment principles of the main neurosurgical diseases.

Specific consideration will be given to the various neurosurgical diseases that can alter hearing function or cause hearing loss.

The student must demonstrate:

Knowledge and understanding of the main neurosurgical diseases

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding in a clinical setting

Independent judgment in managing clinical scenarios

Communication skills in explaining the pathophysiology and various clinical scenarios

Ability to learn about the various neurosurgical diseases

Course Structure

Lectures with clinical case discussion.

Required Prerequisites

It is essential for students approaching the teaching of neurosurgery to have a foundational knowledge of the anatomy of the central nervous system. It is also recommended that students are proficient in the principles of pathophysiology related to the central nervous system, particularly concerning the dynamics of cerebrospinal fluid circulation and intracranial pressure.

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is mandatory according to the regulations of CdS.
