Integrated Course: Computer Science and Statistics

Module Computer science

The Computer Science program covers some of the topics required for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECD), an internationally recognized IT qualification designed to equip students with the skills to use a computer safely and effectively. Further in-depth study is provided in digital image processing and information security management. This course can help improve understanding and efficient use of computers.

Traditional lessons

• Basic Concepts - defines the fundamental concepts and skills related to hardware and software components, device use, file creation, and network sharing.

• Digital Images - This curriculum develops knowledge and skills related to the acquisition and processing of photographs and/or images in digital format. It includes learning how to display images using the main output devices, as well as the various file formats in which they can be stored.

• Navigation - defines the fundamental concepts and skills related to web navigation, effective information search, online communication, and email.

• IT Security - defines the fundamental concepts and skills related to the ability to understand the main concepts underlying the safe use of ICT in everyday life and to use relevant techniques and applications to maintain a secure network connection, use the Internet securely, and manage data and information appropriately.

• Spreadsheets: SpreadSheet - allows students to acquire the concept of spreadsheets and the main software tools for creating and managing them.

• Text files: Word processor - allows the student to acquire the concept of digital text documents and the main software tools for their creation and management.
