Expected Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge of the main neurological diseases and their pathophysiological and clinical bases.

2. To apply the knowledge of neurological diseases to the patient's nosological assessment, understanding the main implications for speech and swallowing functions.

3. To know how to evaluate the best logopedic approach for various neurological diseases through the discussion of potential clinical cases.

4. To be able to properly discuss the clinical characteristics of a patient with a neurological disease.

5. To know how to explore the clinical and rehabilitative aspects of various neurological diseases through the use of electronic and text resources.

Required Prerequisites

Knowledege of anatomy and phisiology of central nervous system, periphearl nervous system and muscoloskeletal system.

Brief review of anatomy and phisiology of central nervous system, peripheral nervous system and muscoloskeletal system. Interpretation of neurological signs. Chronopathology of neurological diseases. Cerebrovascular diseases. Inflammatory diseases. Neurodegenerative diseases. Epilepsy. Headache. Diseases of the peripheral nerves. Neuromuscular diseases. Disorders of consciusness. Neurogenic dysphagia. The aphasias.
