Expected Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module, the student will be able to know the correct use of the active ingredients of drugs in compliance with their therapeutic indications and routes of administration, inform and assist the patient by monitoring the therapeutic efficacy; know and know how to report the side effects or adverse events of the same, educate on the importance of adherence to therapies, know how to disseminate information on possible drug and dietary interactions.

The student must know the basics of physiology and physioppatology of the diseases of the main organs and systems

Detailed Course Content

The PHARMACOLOGY course provides the student with a preparation of the phases of pharmacokinetics, including the routes of administration, the mechanisms of absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of the drug. Study of the classes of drugs most frequently used in clinical practice such as antibiotics, antihypertensives, anti-inflammatories etc; of each class of drugs it will be necessary to know the side effects, the correct mode of intake, the main drug and dietary interactions

The evaluation of the student includes an oral exam which consists in submitting to the examiner three questions, one of pharmacokinetics, one of pharmacodynamics and one of special pharmacology relating to the Nursing sciences
