The course allows you to acquire the essential knowledge relating to the protection of health in living environments (outdoor and indoor environment), in particular: the relationships between exposure to environmental contaminants and the onset of the main infectious and chronic-degenerative diseases; main strategies implemented to prevent negative effects on human health caused by environmental factors; understand the principles and issues relating to food hygiene and nutrition.
Course Structure
Frontal teaching in the classroom with the help of electronic material made available by the teacher.
If the teaching is given in a mixed or remote mode, the necessary changes with respect to what was previously stated may be introduced, in order to comply with the program envisaged and reported in the syllabus.
Required Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of chemistry, biology, microbiology, physics, informatic.

Definition of Hygiene. Demography. Epidemiology. Prevention. Epidemiology and Prevention of Infectious Diseases with particular regard to the most common diseases. Epidemiology and prevention of chronic-degenerative diseases, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, COPD, cancer. Epidemiology applied to the environment. Environmental prevention: study and remediation of the environment with reference to relations with health.
