Learning Objectives

  • Clinical Sciences - Medical Oncology

Students will have to describe the main mechanisms underlying cancer pathogenesis and will have to define the appropriate procedures required for the diagnosis of the most common forms of cancer. Description of currently employed techniques and their usefulness in tumor diagnosis will also be required. Finally, students will have to acquire rudimental notions concerning both conventional chemotherapeutic drugs and novel anti-tumoral biological compounds.

  • Blood Disorders

The aim of the course is to allow the student to recognize the different hematological diseases with insights into methodology necessary to identify, classify and monitor: automated hematological methods, cytogenetics and molecular biology, flow cytometry, electrophoretic methods to measure specific analytes as markers of hematological malignancy.

  • Blood disorders II

The aim of the course is to allow the student to recognize the different hematological diseases with insights into the methodology necessary to identify, classify and monitor: automated hematological methods, cytogenetics and molecular biology, flow cytometry, electrophoretic methods to measure specific analytes as markers of hematological malignancy.
