Learning Objectives

  • Sociology of Cultural Processes and Communication

    The course will introduce students to a range of sociological perspectives on culture and communication.
    Theoretical and practical tools will be provided in order to support social interactions, control stereotypes and stigmatization processes and develop role taking skills. Special emphasis will be placed on the perspective of Symbolic Interactionism.
    Part of the course will be devoted to sociological research on physical disability and stigma.

  • NURSING SCIENCES AND NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC AND REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES

    The module aims to integrate information on the various professional skills by comparing them with the figure of the manager, the various relationships with the services of a health company, the development models and the regulations in force

  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
    The aims of this course is to illustrate the diseases (degenerative, autoimmune and traumatic) of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. The principal goal is to illustrate the principles of functional rehabilitation and the enhancement of residual abilities.
  • Orthopaedics and Traumatology

    The aim is to provide the knowledge of the main musculoskeletal diseases of orthopedic and traumatology. The course provides knowledge regarding common orthopedic and traumatological diseases in physical and sports activities, related to their impact on the planning, organization, and management of motor activities, in relation to the various ages : from thepediatric age to the elderly.

  • Sociology of Cultural Processes and Communication

    - Definition of culture.
    Classical theories.
    Conflictualist perspectives.
    Structural-functionalist perspectives.
    Symbolic Interactionism (Mead, Blumer, Becker, Denzin).

    - Communication Processes and Social Interactions
    The social construction of Self (G. H. Mead, W. James, C. H. Cooley).
    Primary and secondary socialization, re-socialization (P. Berger, T. Luckmann).
    Significant others and reference groups (T. Shibutani). Subcultures and social worlds (H. S. Becker, G. A. Fine, A. Strauss). Stereotypes and prejudices (W. Lippman, G. Allport). Stigma and Labeling Theory. Total Institutions (E. Goffman, K. Plummer, L. Athens, S. Cohen).

  • NURSING SCIENCES AND NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC AND REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES

    The course includes the description, orientation and organization of a healthcare company taking into consideration the activity of the manager of the rehabilitative healthcare professions in correlation with the coordination of the various departments and the services of the healthcare company itself. In this case, the role of the Coordinator, the URP, the Health Department, the Competent Doctor, the Legal Department, the Quality Office and the Prevention and Safety Office will be described.

  • Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
    Degenerative and traumatic diseases of the spine and rehabilitation; disorders of the CNS and rehabilitation; pathologies of the SNP and rehabilitation; instrumental therapy and EBM; rheumatic disease and rehabilitation treatment; traumatic and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system and rehabilitation treatment; functional assessment scales; utilities of the neurophysiological technique in rehabilitation; self-rehabilitation of spastic paresis.
  • Orthopaedics and Traumatology

    The course is based on the main orthopaedic and traumatologic disorders, highlighting: epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, imaging investigations, differential diagnosis, prognosis, complications, conservative and surgical treatment.
